Ok first off, I don't have a Mustang. I *do* have a Mercury Topaz out back that's on blocks and surrounded by weeds. There's also a pile of old tires about 10 feet to the left of my Topaz. ...that would be a rev limiter
a speed limiter is usually for the matter of safety- often because the car has enough power to reach a speed at which the body design is unsafe due to aerodynamics. |

| For example, the Studebaker Avanti. The aerodynamics were such that at high speed, a pocket of vacuum was created over the rear window. This sometimes causes the window to get sucked out of the car. There are numerous cases of Avantis doing around 120 or 130 having the rear window fly STRAIGHT UP out of the car and shatter all over the road. |

I've gone 140 in my car and the only thing that stopped it from going faster is the limiter.
WhiteBird101 - you have to redo your fuel injection system, chip is part of it, but that's not enough. |

And the bullshit continues.... funny how a 100-horsepower advantage and the fact that my Thud's one of the most aerodynamic cars to ever come out of Detroit is overcome by SUPERIOR JAPANESE TECHNOLOGY~!!! Because Japanese horsepower are worth more than American horsepower since they're higher-tech.

And my ride is not "mad tyte", its just a pretty neat car. But I guess compared to your fricken pinto its mad tyte. |

cold air does dick all........asshole.......its just an air filter on a stick!......
....and if it is to do what it says it does (colder air for the clynder).....then you must adjust the fuel to air ratio accordingly......
....methinks the ratio is 50 parts of air to every 1 part of gas.....so if you cold air really does work (in which most after-market rice products don't).....you might get a shity 70 parts air with 1 part gas......you gotta adjust for the fuel.....otherwise.....your just pumping air around....
.....and why would anyone with a car with a V8 in it be jealous of your sentra?......i just wanna know what STOCK qualities does you sentra's engine have over a say......an LS6....or a HEMI?......
.....how can we be jealous of your Sentra...if some of us have cars that are more powerful than yours?.....

The 80's T-Birds and the 3rd gen Firebirds were extensively wind tunnel tested and as a result, had some of the lowest drag coefficents ever seen on production cars, and neither had erector set wings or hideous body kits, so I don't see what riceboy is trying to do....
You are very jealous that your car can't beat 110

| I hate to take up for the ricer, but 'cold air' intakes do actually help. The only make 4 or 5 hp at peak on a 140 - 150 hp motor, but they reshape the torque band a lot, and make some serious off-peak gains, due to the longer runner length. Doesn't mean he's not an idiot, just pointing that out. |

| Wow. Nissians suck more then i thought they do. You have to redo the entire fuel injection system to remove the speed limiter. Another reason to buy domestic. Pop in a chip and your done. Speed limiter gone. |

454, i just read your comment #7 and I have to disagree...they get A LOT slower than nissan
Nissan has a very good model lineup with some balls to them...the new 240hp pathfinder, new altima and maxima that both run flat 6's to 60mph, the new se-r that is quicker than anything in its price class, and dont forget the 350z coming soon, that should be quick as well
the quest minivan doesnt count, and the only slower model is the frontier, which runs like an 8-second 60mph time, even with a supercharger |

| Sure, cold air intakes do give some nice increases in off-peak torque. Which makes them a good part to install on your typical peaky, torque-impaired Japanese engine. But they do precisely fuck-all for your top end. Anyway, NissanRicer, what IS your top end? 'Cause you've said 110, 140, and a couple other things. Pick one. And your car beats 110? Big deal, I did that in a Dodge Grand Caravan. You do it EVERY DAY? Again with riceboys driving like assholes. I only top-end my cars rarely, in perfect conditions, way out in the country, where the chances of killing myself and anyone else are minimized. Finally, for the last time, NO ONE IS JEALOUS OF YOUR SENTRA. Jealousy sounds like this: "Damn, you lucky bastard, you have a Sentra. I'm going to kill you and steal your car." Notice how no one has said anything that sound like this. Laughing at you sounds like this: "You have a Sentra? And you're proud of this? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA..... God you suck." |
