ok first off how can you saw a american made FORD is a ricer you people wouldnt know a nice car if one came up and bit you on the face. that car is sweet i have a ZX3 too you guys are just plain stupid the only rice cars out ther are hondas, and other jap cars american made cars are not rice burners this guys car is probally the sweetest ZX3 i have seen in a while and with hopes of makeing my car simmilar to his i hope you try to say mine is a rice'er and i will find your cars and piss in the gas tanks!

Ok, to clarify a few things before I respond to the Drewster (no relation to Punky Brewster). You can rice out any type of car, not just Japanese cars have the capability of being riced out. If you take a Ford Festiva (or a go-cart, it's pretty much the same thing) and put a big wing on it, throw a few vtec badges on there, maybe a windshield banner that says "Festiva POWER!!", you've just riced out a Festiva (and spent more on mods then the actual cost of the car). Second, this email is defending the Ford Focus in ticket 0039.
Now, I don't know about any of you guys (or girls) out there but I always thought the saying was "if one came up and bit you in the ass". I suppose a bite to the face would be far more noticeable though. Although when it comes down to it, I'd really rather not get bit in the face or the ass. Next, I know for a fact that when I took those pictures that car had absolutely NO mods at all aside from what you see on the outside. Then again you're probably the type of guy that considers stickers to be actual mods, right Drew? The next part is my favorite line in the entire email. If I even TRY to call Drew's car a ricer he will locate my car and piss in the gas tank. I for one would love to know how this would go down. Does Drew have GTPS(Global Trooper Positioning System)? Even if he did, it seems like a tremendous amount of effort just to come and piss in a gas tank. But then again, Drew doesn't strike me as one of the most rational people on the planet either. Anyway, Drew, your car is a rice-mobile. I'll leave my gas door open for ya.

This elail will be about 2 or 3 posts long....so please read it according to the number listed before each posting.

Ok, I am new to this site but so far, I love it. I live in Puerto Rico and I can tell ya that there are way more ricers here than you will ever see in the States. As for this Ford, not all Jap cars are ricers. I drive a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX that looks completely stock from the exterior, but the engine in it pushes out nearly 375 horsepower at the wheels...all four wheels. I am going to an even larger turbo and even larger fuel injectors in the next few months as soon as I have my local SCCA membership completed. I am happy with my 12.2 quarter mile times for now, but I want to be in the 11 second bracket when I start doing local competition. To define rice, I would say it is anything that looks fast but is not.

Wings on a front wheel drive car, body kits to make the car look sleeker, imitation HID headlights, aftermarket gauges that are of no use.....these are all examples of rice to me. I am a firm beleiver that it is not the make of the car that makes it rice or not....it is the mods that the person does to it that makes it rice. If you want to go fast and you make your car fast, then you are a tuner.....If you want to go fast and you make you car LOOK fast, then you are a ricer. This Ford owner is obviously a ricer. Many of the guys I race with are import owners...many of them own domestic. The slowest one runs 13.5 in the quarter. None of our cars have silly mods unless justified. For example...I needed aftermarket gauges to properly monitor boost pressure, exhaust gas temperature, and air to fuel ratio. I went with AutoMeter for most of them and I got the Phantom gauges. These gauges are white, so I changed the factory dash to white face gauges.

If I had not added any performance parts to my car and then put the white face gauges in just for the look, then I would be a ricer. I will be posting pictures of my car and pictures of some of the rice that I see on a daily basis here in the near future. I am still truing to figure out how to post messages in the forum. I signed up for the EZBoard thing, but it will not let me stay logged in when I go to the forum. If anyone can help me out, then please email me at jreynolds@pinacolada.net

I will also post a list of all the performance parts that I have on my car along with engine bay pictures so that people will know that I really have the parts that I talk about.

I am not the type of import driver that thinks that I can build my car to beat any domestic v8 on the road, but I think that 12.2 from a 2 liter, 4 cylinder car is pretty impressive. Hopefully with my next phase of mods, I will be at about 450 horsepower.

After that, I will turn my resources back to my Jeep, which I use for rockcrawling and mudd bogging. It has just as many mods as my car, if not more. Jack of all trades, master of none......and never a ricer.

well if you actually think about it and do some damn research then you will come to find that the definition of "RICE ROCKET" is a foreign car like japenes or something-- ask your parents they started saying that in the 60s so think b-4 you talk from now on.

Rice rocket is a Jap car that goes fast, much like pocket rocket, small car that goes fast normally from japan. Rice rockets really arent rice and many you would be struggleing to make in to rice. However I belive rice to be something all show no go, but you can riceout your car and also give it some serious power, therefore making it ricey.

...no no and no!.......

rice(1) (noun) - a edible grain product of orental orgin now enjoyed by millions worldwide
rice(2) (slang: automotive) - [A] a car that appears to be fast (or appears to have qualities that make it look better than other cars) but isn't due to the owners lack of knowlage of automotive workings. (faking it) [B] used to describe a car that looks fast but moves slowly.

ricer (adverb) - one who exhibits rice(2) (orgin is belived to come from a ricer's inability to pronounce race {race/rice} ) : same as "riceboy.ricegirl.riceburner.street racer"

This car has to be rice. It has "Wings West" stickers on it in like 7 places. "Team Dynamics" is on there about 5 or 6 times. Eibach makes good springs, but you need power. Don't tell me you get plenty of power from your Injen Cold Air Intake and Borla Exhaust. These cars need to stick to the thing they are good at. Killing their drivers. Well, I am not sure if they are good at it, but I would love to see this car get in a fatal automotive crash with lots of fire. These cars are far from cool. It is like a station wagon, but smaller and uglier. At least a station wagon will kick some ass in a demolition derby. this car would just look pretty and go no where....just like it does on the street...wait...it doesn't look pretty. Why do you guys even try. This car is poo.

#11, actually i think you're referring to a crotch rocket...which would be a bike (motorcycle)

If the "rice" in rice rocket refers to rice like "Ricecop", "Rice rocket" would be an oxymoron. :)

#10, How about you think before YOU post. "Rice Rocket" was coined in the motorcycle community about the little Japanese crotch rockets. The term has spread to mean any 4cyl. car. It really has nothing much to do with who makes the cars when used on this site, as it applies to what is done to the car.
