to me. A big reason that peopel do hate this movie is cause it helped out the rice culture. And in that aspect, I dislike the movie, but it is entertaining. And also, I've noticed people on this site classify Neon lights under the car as a rice boy thing? I had them under my car since way, way, way before that movie ever came out. They have been around since like the 80's they are not a ricer mod. I admit many ricers picked up this trend because of the cars in fast and the furious, but they definatly did not start it. And I admit people often go overboard with neone license plate frames and neon attenas and neon what ever the hell else they can find and make the car look dumb. But don't call a car rice cause it has neon lights.

I don't have to worry about tacky neon underbodies or plate frames, both are illegal in my home state :-)

Well they are in places around here, but I don't care. I think the license plate flames are tacky, but I like the looks of underbody kits.

Yeah I know what you mean, why drive a car that's not fast...like it's fast. By the way Jesuz nice van, I love it.

Thats why I loved my rusty old 78' Dodge pickup, the ricers couldn't figure out how I was able to pass them going uphill in it. It's called torque, I have it, you don't, idiots. .....

I liked the movie. It was like most hollywood efforts, not quite accurate, but some parts of it were, and a lot of times accuracy was sacrificed for the movie. They had 4 cars racing because it was dramatic, not because it was accurate, which it wasn't. I freely admit to having been a sort of riceboy. I liked aluminum spoilers, carbon fiber, and all that. I wasn't full out, I knew that a spoiler wouldn't make you go faster, but I liked the racecar look. My car has neons, and YES they're the same color as my car (green) but it had them a long time before that movie came out. Yes, there were a lot of ugly cars in the movie, but there were a lot of cool ones, too. Craig Lieberman's Supra (the orange one) I would kill for. More for the performance than the looks, though, although I love the look. I'm not sure about the sticker, but I don't hate it either.

this Movie sucked ass! hunderds of "Street Racers" around not on single Mustang, Vette, or Camaro.... it is also a movie all about Imports but not one single Porsche... It might be rare but there are people who street race in heavily modded Porsches..... That race at the end was just dumb... from the smoking wheel stand??? up until the 130+MPH railroad crossing..... If a car that runs 9 flat raced a car that ran somewhere in the 10s the 10 second car would never see the 9 second car.... ever! especially if the 9 second car got enough traction to pull the front wheels 4 feet off the ground... this whole movie was pure BS from start to finish.... Hollywood sucks! they never get anything right!

"Gone in 60 Seconds"(original and remake) had just as many improbabilities as this movie, but because there's nothing but muscle cars in it, its accepted...hmm.

I too would kill for the Supra....minus the sticker and I'd probably paint it. The movie was good for something from Hollywood. Like you said it's rare to see a Porche, you know why? Most people who own them belong to the Porche club. They have meetings every month or so to race their Porches against other Porches at drag strips. They aren't stupid enough to take them to the street. As for the domestics, not many people put Nitrous in their Vette. It's fast without it. The whole point of the movie was to focus on imports, specificly Jap cars. So of course you won't see a Camero or Slowstang. Jiffy's right, you don't hear people complaining about "Gone in 60 Seconds" because it was domestics. In closing, I'm going to repeat myself here, this was NOT rice.

People: Rice has nothing to do with performance. If a car has a body kit that doesn't fit it, a spoiler when it doesn't need it, and is covered with stickers, it's rice. No matter how fast it is. But the slower ones are "ricier" than the fast ones.

And Jiffy: Who accepts Gone in 60 Seconds? Nobody, because the movies sucked. BUT, they were made much better than F&F (even the first one), so they were better movies. And last time I checked, there weren't just muscle cars in the Gone in 60 Seconds movies. There were very few, as a matter of a fact. And at least they didn't have lines like "What's up with this dude? Is he some kind of sandwhich freak, or what?" Weak.

Very few muscle cars my ass. The second one had, among others, a Plymouth Superbird, a Hemi Cuda, a '69 dodge charger, a Viper GTS, a road runner, an AC Cobra, and of course a GT500.

you're right, at least Gone in 60 seconds didn't have the cheesy lines every 5 minutes like F&F, but the stunt scenes were absurdly more stupid than F&F. In the remake, a car outruns a helicopter while Nicolas Cage pulls a "Dukes of Hazzard" jump with Eleanor on the bridge. I guess they both are insanely stupid in their own ways :)

Skid, a ricer is someone who tries to make their car look fast but in reality has no engine mods. I repeat my self again.....the cars in F&F are MODDED they are therefore, by definition, NOT RICE!

yeah, he hits the nitrous at 7000RPM, wtf was the point of that?

there are plenty of people that put N20 on Vettes! There's a guy that lives a few towns over that has a 2001 Vette he bought pulled the engine apart, bored and stroked it, got an LS6 intake and a 175 shot of Nitrous and he street races anyone dumb enough to pull up next to him.... and the thing about there being no Camaros or Mustangs is stupid because that much Rice would actract them... Easy pray to them... you average ricemobile wouldn't be a challange for a lightly modded Camaro... and yes the Supra was fast but it also wasn't in the race at the begining of the movie.... whatever the movie still sucks

The reason there were a lot of musclecars in Gone in 60 Seconds is because it's a movie about stealing cars. Classic muclecars are desireable. A car theft ring stealing a bunch of riced out shitvics, would be about as believable as the "racing" in The F&F. The ONLY accurate part of The F&F is when everyone ran when the cops showed up. A total piece of crap overall, though. EVERY car in it was total rice. Take off the stickers, wings, and all the other crap, the RX7 and Supra in that movie would be sweet cars. Why make them look like big Fing joke?

hey, don't blame the movie makers for those cars, they just borrowed em. ;p

CRX, that makes 5 musclecars (Cobra and Viper are sports cars, not muscle cars). Considering there are 50 cars on the list, 5 doesn't = a lot of musclecars.

And Mindspynn...a ricer is not only someone who modifies just the exterior of their car, and not the motor. A ricer is one who NEEDLESSLY modifies the exterior of their car. The green Eclipse for example, is a ricer, because it had a huge spoiler and a carbon fiber hood (and it's front wheel drive). I don't care what he had done to the engine, the car would've run faster had he not taken weight off of the drive wheels and put it over the back end.

And if rice is only cars that haven't been worked on mechanically...how can we say any car on this site is rice? Just looking at pictures of the cars doesn't tell us what kind of engine mods have been done. It's simple....just because a riced up car is fast dones not mean it's not rice.

Rice to me has always been 90% attitude and 10% car mods. A guy can do some really bizzare things to a car, but unless he also has this cocky attitude that he's faster than you, and does all the "Leet gang homie-speak" and blares rap from the radio, then I don't consider him a ricer, maybe stupid, maybe eccentric, but not a ricer
